Carmelo hayes made his debut in beyond wrestling (2015-2020) on jan 23, 2015 in a six man tag team championship in winning effort.
He signed with WWE on February 12, 2021 and was assigned to the WWE Performance center. He debuted in nxt on june 1 under ring name Carmelo hayes where he faced kushida in an open challenge for NXT cruiserweight championship but he was not able to win.
Carmelo hayes won 2021 NXT breakout tournament on August 24 by defeating odyssey jones then he soon turned heel attacking duke Hudson.
On the October 12 episode of nxt 2.0 carmelo hayes successfully cashed in his contract on Isaiah “swerve” scott to win the north American championship. Then he successfully defended his title In a triple threat match against jhonny gargano and pete dunne. On January 4, 2022 at NXT New year’s evil he beat Roderick strong thus the north American and cruiserweight championships were unified Carmelo being the final cruiserweight champion.
